The Union City Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to improving the economic environment of our community.

What is a Chamber of Commerce?

For over three centuries, businesses and professional people all over the world have joined together in chambers of commerce to shape the future of their communities. The modern Chamber of Commerce movement traces its origins to 17th Century France. The successful concept took root in the New World even before the American Revolution. The first American Chamber of Commerce was established in New York City in 1770.

The formal U. S. Chamber of Commerce was founded on April 22, 1912, at the suggestion of President William Howard Taft as a means to develop a linkage between American businesses and the federal government. Soon, Chambers were operating in 40 American cities. Now, in the 21st century, the Chamber has grown to represent more than 3 million businesses, nearly 3,000 state and local Chambers, 830 associations, and over 90 American Chambers of Commerce abroad.

Like other Chambers around the world, the Union City Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to improving the economic climate in our local community by providing resources and opportunities that enable our member companies to thrive and achieve unprecedented success
